Job Overview:-

As a Senior Microbiologist – Sterilization Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring Medtronic’s products meet global quality and safety standards. You’ll be responsible for managing sterilization processes, overseeing microbiological testing, and driving continuous improvement within the sterility assurance department.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Team Management: Lead and guide a team of four microbiology professionals, setting performance goals and supporting their daily operational activities.
• Sterility Assurance: Ensure compliance with international sterility standards, protocols, and quality management systems (QMS).
• Audit & Compliance: Support internal and external audits, respond to findings, and maintain full regulatory compliance.
• Microbiological Testing: Conduct detailed microbiological and chemical analyses, interpret results, and implement corrective measures when required.
• Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve sterilization efficiency and process consistency.
• Documentation & CAPA: Maintain accurate documentation for all activities, including Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) reports and process validation records.
• Program Development: Review, update, and strengthen Sterility Assurance programs to align with Medtronic’s global standards.

Required Qualifications:-

To qualify for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Education:

  • Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • OR an advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) with at least 1 year of relevant experience.

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sterility assurance, microbiological testing, or quality control within the healthcare, pharma, or medical device sector.

• Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of sterilization processes, bioburden testing, and microbial limit testing.
  • Understanding of GMP, ISO 13485, and FDA regulatory standards.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and time management.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail and precision.

• Language:

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Italian proficiency is an added advantage.

• Preferred Certifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Yellow Belt certification.
